When Justin from Windsor invited Easy Living Kitchens to design him a new kitchen, his existing 40 plus year old kitchen was definitely on its last legs. With only floor cabinets and not even a pantry, there was simply very limited storage space, even for a young single guy. The recently purchased 1920 workers cottage was in need of major works and Justin knew he had embarked on a challenge, but knew the hard work would pay off in the end.
We worked with Justin to design a functional and spacious feeling kitchen in what is essentially a small space. Focus was given to massively increasing storage through the use of drawers in place of cupboards and spacious and easily accessible lift up overheads.
During our initial consultation we came up with a design that met every one of Justin’s requirements and chose all colours, finishes, door profiles and benchtop specifications.
Doors and drawers chosen are Polytec Manchester Ultra White Gloss Thermolaminated with finger pull Blum Aventos overhead lift system, extrusion fitted no handle drawers with Blum TANDEMBOX Antaro pull outs, and a Space Tower Pantry. The choice of drawer and door hardware is a major factor to increasing the longevity of any new kitchen. At Easy Living Kitchens we’ve tried and tested many of the leading brands as well as cheaper imports, and we can confidently back the claims of Blum being the superior solution with a good range of choice, backed by a lifetime warranty.
Benchtop is 40mm Caesarstone Snow and Splashback is White Subway tiles finished with black grout. Justin selected an Oliveri Santorini Black Granite undermount sink and matching tap / mixer. Bosch appliances were sourced independently to complete the picture.
